Wing Shooting

Thousands of acres of land at Turkey Hill are maintained and preserved for use as bird woods. Morning quail hunts begin at 9AM with a detailed safety orientation. Guests set out on a hunt wagon accompanied by a driver, relays of eager dogs, and experienced guides on horseback.

Expect lots of coveys, the joys of working with well-trained dogs, beautiful and varied terrain, and last but not least camaraderie. Then comes a delicious home-made lunch at one of the houses. Afternoon hunts begin around 2PM and conclude just about when the sun appears over the yardarm, usually around 5PM.

There are currently several shooting groups whose members participate in organized wing shooting and there is a waitlist.
